Understanding the Basics of a Blog
Unless you have been living in total isolation, you have probably heard about blogs and blogging by now. It seems that almost everybody has one, except you, of course.
Perhaps you are a little bit confused over what exactly a blog is. The truth about the matter is, it is not all that complicated even though some people would like you to think that it is. Here is a little bit about the history of blogs and where they have taken us today.
The word blog is short for weblog, so in essence, it is simply a way for you to log information onto the Internet. In its earliest stages, a blog was a pure form of providing news to other individuals. It has progressed far since then, however, although it’s still, at its most basic level, is still just a way to share information with other individuals.
One of the more interesting things about blogging is the fact that you don’t need to understand how to build a webpage in order to make one. Most of the blog software that is available is easy to install and even easier to customize. You simply fill out a form with the title of your blog post and the body of the post and it will be online with the click of a button.
Another interesting thing about blogs is the fact that they are all tied together to a certain extent through a process known as RSS. RSS stands for real simple syndication, and it is a way of syndicating your content to thousands of different websites instantly. That is why blogs get so much attention over top of normal websites.
